You know it's over when Ohio's strongly pro-HRC party machine names an add-on who has endorsed Obama!
Saturday the Ohio party named labor leader David Regan as one of their two add-ons, and Regan endorsed Barack, telling the AP that Obama is: "the candidate that can unite the country and move beyond the divineness and gridlock that we have today."
They are sending a great message to everyone, supers and other states yet to name their add-ons. They are saying loud and clear; THAT first phase of the campaign is over and we have our nominee!
It was another excellent day for Obama, also picking up an uncommitted super from Arizona (Rep. Harry Mitchell) one from the Virgin Islands plus a flipped former Clinton-supporter (Kevin Rodriguez) from the Virgin Islands, and an expected add-on from Utah. She picked up one in Massachusetts, but with the loss from the VI had a net outcome of zero.
But the Ohio add-on strikes me as the best news of all -- although with so much good news coming in that's not always easy to say! Regan explained his endorsement, despite the fact that Clinton won the Ohio primary, by saying:
"But that was two months ago. I think as the campaign has unfolded, Obama is looking like a stronger and stronger candidate. I think it's very likely he will be the nominee."
Again, the message is that it is time for everyone to put the internal fights behind, and join together behind Obama. No vote that HRC was still expecting is safe for her, because the party is starting to look ahead now to the general election.
